Teenage girls attack woman on Wakefield street

Two teenagers broke a woman's ankle when they shoved her to the floor and robbed her mobile phone.

The 33-year-old woman was walking along Bolus Lane in Outwood at around 6pm on Tuesday, January 19, when she was approached by two young females.

The robbers pushed her to the floor, causing her to break her ankle, and made off with her phone.

Two members of the public, believed to have witnessed the attack, came to the aid of the victim.

Police are appealing for information about the robbery.

Detective Constable Alex Fletcher of Wakefield District CID said; “This incident has occurred during the early part of the evening in a residential area, and although it was dark I am certain that someone will have seen something.

“I would appeal to anyone who was in the area around Bolus Lane and may have seen the suspects prior to or after the incident to come forward.

“I would also appeal directly to the two members of the public who came to assist the victim to contact police as they may hold vital information. Enquiries are ongoing.”

The first suspect is described as a white female, aged around 19, of skinny build.

She is around 5ft 5ins tall and has black hair which was tied up. She was wearing a white top.

The second woman is also described as white, around 19-years-old and about 5ft 5ins tall.

She has blonde hair, which was tied up, and she was wearing a red top and red jogging bottoms.
