A telegram from the Queen and a party with family and friends marked the 100th birthday of a South Kirkby woman.
Annie (Nancy) Eggleston celebrated her special day at Bollingbroke House Care Home in South Kirkby last month.
Mrs Eggleston was born in Durham on March 16, 1915.
She moved to Upton and worked as a cleaner in Barclays Bank.
She met her husband, Richard Eggleston, who was a miner, and the couple married on June 6 1953 and set up home in South Kirkby, later moving to Upton.
Mr Eggleston died in 1998.Mrs Eggleston has two nephews and one niece.
Her nephew Bill Johnson said: “She had a lovely birthday which was celebrated at a small party with her family and friends at the care home in South Kirkby.
“She was very pleased to get her telegram from the Queen.
“I am extremely proud of my aunt’s achievement getting to her 100th birthday.”
