THIEVES swiped “dangerous” equipment from Pontefract Hospital.

Police are appealing for information after a defibrillator, oxygen cylinder and a computer were stolen from the Friarwood Lane site on Sunday February 19.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “A defibrillator is used to restart the heart when is has stopped and could be dangerous if used.”

Officers are trying to trace four teenagers who smashed windows to gain entry to the hospital. They say no confidential information was stored on the stolen computer.

Witnesses or anyone with information is asked to contact Wakefield police on 101.
