YOUNGSTERS from Pontefract’s Inglebrook School were top of the class when they took part in the town’s recent music festival.
Pupils from the school entered 15 classes at the festival and took 11 first places, winning seven trophies.
Joyce Bellamy, school principal, said: “The pupils of years one, two and three charmed the audience in the under nine choral speaking class with their lively interpretation of Ogden Nash’s Custard The Dragon.”
The school has taken part in the festival since 1979.
Mrs Bellamy added: “This year’s entrants did especially well. I was very pleased and the audience were delighted. The festival is fantastic, it builds the children’s confidence and stands them in good stead.”
