Train delays in West Yorkshire after person is hit by a train near Huddersfield

There are delays on the rails across West Yorkshire this morning after a person was hit by a train by Deighton train station in Huddersfield.

British Transport Police said the incident happened at around 8.30am and emergency services are working at the scene.

There are delays of around 40 minutes to trains between Huddersfield and Leeds, Brighouse and Wakefield Kirkgate.

National Rail said it’s not clear how long the delays will last, but it is likely to continue until at least 10am.
