Yorkshire Water have begun work on Horbury Road, to the south west of the city, to install a new water main.
➡️ These are ALL the major roadworks planned in the Wakefield district in the next weekTemporary traffic lights have been set up at the junction with Thornes Road while the work is carried out, and motorists have reported long delays.

Hide AdTailbacks of more than a mile have been reported towards Horbury, while drivers on Thornes Road also face congestion.
Last year, residents on Horbury Road complained of flooding after a nearby drain backed up in heavy rain.
The work began today (Wednesday, February 26) and is expected to continue until Friday.
