According to West Yorkshire Metro, these are all the bus alterations currently in place in the Wakefield district, as of 9.40am:

110 Main Roads only. Terminate at Kettlethorpe and using Standbridge Lane instead of Hendel

112 Main roads only, buses terminate at Alverthorpe

148 / 148A / 149 Main roads only. 06:30 trip left Wakefield Bus Station normally/ 07:42 trip from Knottingley cancelled

156/159 Main roads only, not serving Dunderdale Crescent and Queens Park Hill

163/166 Main Roads only, not serving Fairburn Drive, Butt hill, Gibson Lane, Church Lane, Garforth and Green Lane at Crossgates

An amber weather warning has been issued for Wakefield this morning, after a night of heavy snowfall across the district.

Traffic delays and disruption expected

Long delays have been reported on many of the district’s roads this morning, following heavy snowfall overnight.

A spokesperson for Wakefield Council said: "Heavy snow has fallen across the region. This is causing widespread disruption in the district and the rest of West Yorkshire.

“We'd like to thank our snow wardens, parish councils and all our residents who are helping to help clear snow and ice from local streets and pavements. 

"Please stay safe if you are doing this. Your help and support is very much appreciated but please put your own safety first.”
