Man died in fatal collision on A650 in Wakefield

Emergency services were called to A650 at the junction of Kenmore Road at about 4.10pm on Wednesday afternoon.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police closed the stretch of dual carriageway between the Vine Tree roundabout and Carr Gate while investigations were carried out at the scene.

Sgt Ann Drury of the Major Collision Enquiry Team, said: “Enquiries are ongoing into this incident and we are appealing for any witnesses to the collision itself. We would also like to speak with anyone who saw the man or the lorry just prior to the collision.

“I would ask any witnesses who can assist our enquiries to contact the Major Collision Enquiry Team on 101.”
