Man needed treatment after kitchen fire in Castleford

A man required medical attention after a kitchen fire in Castleford.

The incident happened at an address on Wood Street at 12.28am this morning (Monday).

Appliances from Castleford and Normanton attended and four firefighters using breathing apparatus used two hose reels and positive pressure ventilation to extinguish the fire.

A man suffered smoke inhalation and was treated by paramedics at the scene.

The cause of the fire is being investigated.
