A man trapped in his car was rescued by firefighters after an M62 smash.
Fire crews from Normanton, Castleford and Pontefract were called to the scene at 2.17am in the morning (Sunday).
It was initially thought that a lorry had collided with a car between junctions 31 and 32 eastbound.
But when firefigthers arrived at the scene they discovered that two cars had crashed into each other.
One man was trapped in his vehicle and had to be cut free. He was taken to hospital but his injuries were not thought to be life threatening.
A technical rescue vehicle from Cleckheaton also provided assistance.
