Snowfall causing some traffic issues this morning

Snowfall is causing minor traffic issues on some of the district's roads this morning.

Roads affected by the snowfall include the roads to the east of Wakefield, including the A655 Wakefield Road at Warmfield where traffic is slow, and Doncaster Road at Crofton.

Meanwhile, short delays are being reported on the M62 eastbound between J30 Rothwell and J32 Colorado Way in Pontefract where a lane is closed after a crash between two vehicles this morning.

Traffic was held back for around 20 minutes but two lanes have since re-opened. However, speed is down to about 15mph because of the queues.

The eastbound sliproad on the M62 at J31 Normanton is also now closed due to a collision.

Traffic is also beginning to build on the A628 eastbound between Ackworth House Close and the A639 Jubilee Way in Pontefract.
