We've put together a list of all the major roadworks planned for the Wakefield district in the next seven days. These will include longer periods of roadworks or short jobs which are expected to cause delays, though may not include emergency work.

England Lane, Knottingley. Monday, February 24 to Tuesday, February 25. The road will be closed to all traffic between 11pm and 5am while Network Rail carry out a level crossing test.

B6136 Ferrybridge Road, Knottingley. Sunday, March 1. Temporary traffic lights will be in place at the junction with the A645 Pontefract Road while new track is installed by Virgin Media.

Pinders Garth, Knottingley. Tuesday, February 25. The road will be closed to allow Yorkshire Water to carry out work on a fire hydrant.

A65 Knottingley Road. Thursday, February 27. Temporary traffic lights will be in place while Yorkshire Water carry out work on the road, opposite number 70.

M62 junction 33, Ferrybridge. Ongoing. A number of overnight closures will be in place while Highways England carries out upgrade works to the motorway. View the full details here.

A645 Pontefract Road, Featherstone. Until Monday, March 3. Virgin Media are carrying out work on the site. Several sets of traffic lights will be in place.

B6241, Ackworth Road, Featherstone. Until Friday, February 28. Further temporary lights are also in place on the adjoining B6241 while Virgin Media carry out work in the area.

➡️ 'Catastrophic' Rudd Quarry extension plans rejected again after campaigners objectB6421 Willow Lane, Featherstone. Until Friday, February 28. Northern Gas Networks are carrying out work on the road opposite 92 Willow Lane, including excavating a pipe. Temporary traffic lights will be in place.

Castleford

B6163 Sheepwalk Lane, Castleford. Monday, February 24 to Saturday, March 6. Two-way traffic controls will be in place on the road while Wakefield Council carry out work on the footpath.

Normanton

Station Road, Normanton. Tuesday, February 25 to Thursday, February 27. Temporary lights will be in place while Northern Powergrid carry out remedial works on the road between.

Hemsworth

Barnsley Road, Hemsworth. Until Tuesday, February 25. A lane closure will be in place on the B6273 Cross Hill, Hemsworth, while work is carried out to repair a leaking water main. As part of the work, Yorkshire Water said that Barnsley Road would be closed at the junction with Cross Hill.

➡️ In pictures: Wakefield's Rhubarb Festival 2020Cemetery Road, Hemsworth. A road closure on Cemetery Road will be lifted later today (Monday, February 24), after Wakefield Council complete patchwork on areas of the road.

Old Farm Road, Upton. Until Wednesday, February 26. Yorkshire Water have been carrying out work on Old Farm Road to repair a leaking communication pipe.

Wakefield

A638 Doncaster Road, Crofton. Until Sunday, March 1. Temporary traffic lights have today been installed on Doncaster Road, at the junction with Cock Lane. The work will affect the Wakefield connection only. Northern Gas Networks will carry out work on the road, which is expected to last until Sunday, March 1. Further work will be carried out at a later date.

A638 Doncaster Road, Agbrigg. Monday, March 2 until mid-May. A lane closure will be in place on the A638, at the junction with the A6194 Wakefield Eastern Relief Road, while Gas Transportation Co make a new gas connection.

B6389 Agbrigg Road, Wakefield. Wednesday, February 26 to Thursday, February 27. Stop/go boards will be used to control traffic on Agbrigg Road while Yorkshire Water carry out measurements on a sewer close to Sandal and Agbrigg station.

A61 Ings Road, Wakefield. Wednesday, February 26 to Friday, February 28. Yorkshire Water will be in attendance at the junction between Cathedral and Westgate Retail Parks to repair a leaking water main. A lane closure will be in place.

➡️ Motorcyclist injured after crashing with car in HemsworthA642 Horbury Road, Wakefield. Monday, February 24 to Friday, March 6. A contraflow system will be in place on Horbury Road while Northern Powergrid install cable on the road.

A642 Bridge Road, Horbury Bridge. Monday, February 24 to Tuesday, February 25. Wakefield Council will carry out work between the junctions with Storrs Hill Road and St John's Street, which was previously delayed due to poor weather. Temporary traffic lights will be in place.

Batley Road, Wakefield. Until Friday, February 28. Two weeks of work on Batley Road will come to an end on Friday. Temporary traffic lights have been in place while Northern Gas Networks carried out work on the adjoining Flanshaw Lane.

A61 Leeds Road, Lofthouse. Until Monday, February 24. Virgin Media have been carrying out work on the road close to the junction with Canal Lane, but this is expected to conclude later today.

M62 junction 29, Lofthouse. Monday, February 24 to Wednesday, February 28. Overnight closures will be in place on the M62 at Wakefield while Highways England carry out maintenance work on the roundabout and slip road closure. Closures will be in place between 8pm and 6am, with clearly signed diversions in place.
