Network Rail began work on the A61 Ings Road last month as part of an ongoing project to carry out "major repairs" to the overhead railway bridge.
As part of this, the road under the bridge will remain closed between 10pm and 7am, with a lane closure in place during the day.

Hide AdA spokesperson for Network Rail said: "Improvement work began on the railway bridge at Ings Road in Wakefield this month (April).
"Work is being carried out to strengthen the bridge and it is also being repainted.
"A section of Ings Road is closed to allow the work to take place safely. Network Rail has been working closely with Wakefield Council to minimise the impact this has on people in the area.
"The work is expected to be completed in November."
As a result of the work, motorists travelling from Ings Road towards Chantry Bridge will be diverted via the Kirkgate Roundabout.
Work is expected to continue until Sunday, November 15, 2020.
Letters were delivered to affected local residents prior to the start of work.
