Travellers set up camp at lorry park
Travellers have illegally set up camp at a lorry park in Wakefield city centre.
The group have moved on to the HGV Park at Quebec Street, opposite the Albion Retail Park.
But Wakefield Council have ordered them to leave.
Glynn Humphries, Service Director Environment and Streetscene, said: “We are aware of an unauthorised encampment of travellers at the Quebec Street HGV park in Wakefield.
“We have visited the area and asked them to leave today.
“We have also started legal action in case they do not leave the site and a court date is set for Monday, when we will seek to obtain a Possession Order to remove them.”
