Two men taken to hospital after scooter crash

Two men are in hospital with injuries that could be life-threatening after falling off a scooter in Castleford in the early hours of Sunday morning.

A Castleford man, who was a passenger on the scooter, and another man from Leeds, who was riding it, both 27, were taken to Leeds General Infirmary after the accident at the junction of Lisheen Avenue and Thornhill Road at around 12.10am.

The men were on a Gilera 125cc scooter when they hit the kerb near the junction and fell off.

Anyone who saw the incident or has information is asked to contact PC 6041 McQuade at the Southern Area Roads Policing Unit on 101.
