UPDATE: New play area reopened

A new children's play area has now reopened after being closed earlier today for maintenance work.

The new outdoor play area was only opened two months ago.

The pirate-themed playground at Pugneys was shut today “until further notice” while maintenance work is carried out.

A post on the Pugneys Water Sports Centre and Country Park Facebook page earlier this morning read: “Unfortunately, due for unforeseen maintenance problems, the Pirates Cove Play Area will be closed with immediate effect, until futher notice. Sorry for any inconvenience caused.”

But it was reopened this afternoon.

The play area was officially opened on Thursday, June 2 after a refurbishment.

It has a shipwrecked theme and features two timber galleons, a ‘walk the plank’, lookout tower as well as swings and a sandpit.
