Victim left with broken jaw after alleged assault by doorman in Wakefield city centre

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man allegedly had his jaw broken by a doorman while celebrating Mad Friday in the city centre.

Wakefield CID is investigating the incident, in which the victim was allegedly assaulted by door staff.

The assault happened outside Mex Bar, Albion Court, in Wakefield’s Latino Quarter, between 12.30am and 1.30am on Saturday, December 20. Police have not released any information about which pub the staff were working at.

The doorman has since been interviewed by officers and enquiries are still ongoing.
