An internationally acclaimed children’s choir wowed crowds in Featherstone last week with a special one-off concert.
Youngsters from St Wilfrid’s Catholic High School joined the African Children’s Choir on stage for a rousing rendition of Gary Barlow’s hit, ‘Sing’.
The Grammy-nominated choir also treated the audience at the Cutsyke Road school to a programme of well-loved children’s songs, traditional African songs and Gospel favourites.
Leanne Ellis, who organised the event, said: “I am very pleased that St Wilfrid’s has been lucky enough to work with the African Children’s Choir.
“The children are extremely talented and their joy and enthusiasm radiated throughout the performance. A great night was had by all and we have raised over £4,000 to help provide children in Africa with an education.”
Proceeds from the performance will help the choir raise global awareness of the plight of millions of orphaned and abandoned children in Africa.
