At a recent visit to the Prince of Wales Hospice in Pontefract, Prince Charles was presented with a gold badge for his support for over 30 years.
The Prince of Wales visited the hospice earlier this week to meet patients and staff as well as see the refurbishments the building had undergone last summer.
He became the hospice’s patron in 1987 and its president in 2000. This was his first visit since 2009.
At the end of his visit, the Prince of Wales was presented with a gold badge, an honour which is given to those who have supported the hospice for 30 years.
Prince Charles said: “For me its remarkable to see the work, the difference, the experience, the unbelievable quality of care that can be offered to so many people in this area.“
