Wakefield Business Awards: City retailers to be recognised at awards night
Nominations are being made for the sixth annual Wakefield Business Awards, which celebrate entrepreneurial spirit in the city.
This year’s ceremony will take place at Unity Works on Thursday June 16. Organised by the Express, the awards help to raise the profile of businesses in the city.

And for the first time, the district’s best retailers will be celebrated with new categories in the contest.
The National Retailer category is for any national chain with a Wakefield outlet and will be judged on trading performance and standards locally. Companies which contribute to the city’s nighttime economy can be nominated in the Evening Retailer category.
And retailers not trading under a parent company or chain can enter the Independent Retailer category, which celebrates the city’s diverse high street firms.
