Wakefield firefighters rescued boy who got stuck in gate

A four-year-old boy got his head stuck in a school gate.

A crew from Wakefield Fire Station were called to Ryhill Junior and Infant School just after 10am today. (Thursday)

Headteacher Emma Jones said: “He is absolutely fine, they didn’t have to cut him out or anything like that. They just had to open the gate at a certain angle and he was freed straight away.

“He was really good and really patient. Afterwards he thought he was a superhero. The firefighters were very quick and we’re really grateful to them.”
