Dave W. Mac wrote the song ‘We’ve Got Ourselves a Leader’ following Mr Corbyn’s victory over Liz Kendall, Andy Burnham and Pontefract and Castleford MP Yvette Cooper on Saturday.

Mr Corbyn took 59.5 per cent of the vote - enough to win the contest outright without second preference votes having to be counted.

Ms Cooper and Wakefield MP Mary Creagh ruled themselves out of serving in the new leader’s shadow cabinet, deciding to move to the backbenches.
