Wakefield's YPO in the Sunday Times 100 Best Not for Profit Organisations to Work For

The Wakefield firm moved up ten places from last year to 61st. The Yorkshire Purchasing Organisation achieved the prestigious listing for its excellence in workplace engagement, with rankings being based on the views of employees. 43 per cent of YPO staff responded to a survey asking for feedback on their workplace experience.

Simon Hill, managing director, said: “I am extremely pleased that once again, we have been recognised as an employer that values its people and offers them an environment in which they can thrive. The fact that we have significantly risen from our 71st place last year is testament to our ongoing commitment to our staff and our effective employee engagement programme.

“Moreover, this year, we received a much greater response to the survey internally (a 15 per cent increase on last year), helping us identify specific areas that matter to members of our team, and therefore enabling us to make YPO an even better place to work.”

The firm, on 41 Industrial park, launched its 2016 apprenticeship scheme on Monday. Eight apprentice positions are now available in a number of different areas across the organisation.

The closing date for applications is April 30, with the two-year programme starting on July 1.
