Work undertaken included new paving slabs and fresh flower beds and was completed in time for this year’s Remembrance Sunday service.

The revamp of the memorial, situated on the corner of Harewood Lane and Wrangbrook Road, is the first scheme headed by the parish council’s Community Development Working Party (CDWP).

“The CDWP would like to the thank the Parish Council for funding the scheme. We’d also like to thank Michelle Stevens from Groundwork, who has given a tremendous amount of her time to this project.

“We’d like to thank WGC Landscapes who did a great job, Pat Walls who sculptured the stones bollards and Tyas and Tyas for their work on the memorial itself.”
