This week’s roadworks in West Yorkshire

Motorists could face disruptions while Highways England carries out planned roadworks on motorways in the region. Clearly signed diversion routes will be in place at the following closures from Monday September 28 until Sunday October 4.

Roadworks: what to expect

- The hard shoulder on the M1 Junction 32 at Thurcroft to Junction 33 at Catcliffe is currently closed in both directions as part of the smart motorway scheme. The northbound side of the motorway will be reduced to a single lane overnight for five nights on Monday 28 September. The southbound side of the motorway will be reduced to a single lane overnight for five nights from Monday September 28. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes.

- The hard shoulder of the M1 Junction 34 at Tinsley to Junction 35a at Stocksbridge is currently closed in both directions as part of the smart motorway scheme. There will be narrow lanes and a 50mph speed limit until the project is completed in winter 2016. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes.

- The hard shoulder of the M1 Junction 39 at Denby Dale to Junction 42 is currently closed in both directions as part of the smart motorway scheme. There will be narrow lanes and a 50mph speed limit in place until the project is completed in autumn 2015. The southbound side of the motorway will be closed between junction 40 to junction 41 for two nights from Tuesda September 29. The northbound entry slip road at junction 41 will be closed for three nights on Monday 28 September. The southbound side of the motorway will be closed between junction 39 to junction 40 overnight on Thursday 1 October. The northbound side of the motorway will be closed between junction 39 to junction 40 overnight for six nights on Monday 28 September. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes.

- There will be narrow lanes on the M26 Junction 26 at Bradford and a 30mph speed limit in place until the project is completed in April 2016. The slip roads and roundabout at the junction will be reduced to a single lane overnight, between 7pm and 6am, from Monday 14 September for five nights.

- The eastbound carriageway of the M62 at Junction 32 at Castleford will be closed between the slip roads for bridge works for five nights from Monday September 28. The closures will be in place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes.

- The anticlockwise carriageway on the M621 Junction 1 at Beeston will be closed overnight for five nights from Monday September 28 for bridge works. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes.

- The clockwise exit slip road on the M621 at Junction 4 - Hunslet - will be closed for maintenance works on Sunday October 4. The closures will take place between 5am and 9am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes.

- The clockwise entry slip road on the M621 Junction 1 at Beeston will be closed for maintenance works on Saturday October 3. The closures will take place between 5am and 10am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes.

- The northbound exit slip road on the A1(M) Junction 37 at Blyth will be closed for patching works overnight for five nights from Monday September 28. The closures will take place between 9pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes.

- The northbound entry slip road and southbound exit slip road on the A1(M) Junction 36 at Warmsworth will be closed for bridge works overnight on Saturday October 3. The closures will take place between 9pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes.

- The eastbound and westbound side of the A61 Westwood roundabout road will be closed between Westwood and Wentworth Way for roundabout improvement works from Monday September 28 for four nights. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes.

- There will be narrow lanes on the A180 and A160 at Immingham along with a 50mph speed limit while work takes place to improve access to the Port of Immingham, including upgrading the A160 to a dual carriageway. The project is due to be completed in autumn 2016. The westbound exit slip road at Brocklesby will be closed until August 2016 and the eastbound entry slip road at Brocklesby will be closed until August 2016. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes.
