Wildfire tackled in Normanton

Five fire crews were called to tackle a blaze in a field in Normanton last night.

Flames had spread across around 80 metres x 20 metres of dried field off Boundary Lane in Normanton

Appliances from Wakefield, Normanton, Castleford, Pontefract and Ossett attended the scene at around 6.30pm on Sunday.

Crews used four hose reels and three beaters to extinguish the fire and prevent it spreading further.
