Woman rushed to hospital by ambulance after Darrington crash

A woman had to be taken to hospital following a collision in Darrington this morning (Wednesday).

Appliances from Pontefract, Featherstone, Castleford and a heavy rescue tender from Cleckheaton were called to the A1 junction 41 to 40 at 6.25am to the colision between a HGV and a car.

The woman was trapped in the car, but was released before the fire service arrived.

An appliance from Pontefract remained at the incident to make the scene safe.

The woman was taken to hospital by ambulance and the driver of the HGV was treated for shock at the scene.
