X Factor hopeful Jack Walton went back to school when he spent the day with his former teachers at Castleford Academy.

The 17-year-old was invited back to the school after appearing on the talent show last week.

Jack, of Aketon Road, said: “It was a really good day seeing all my former teachers, I really enjoyed it.

“They were all really proud of me and they said I was always very appreciative of the help they gave me.”

Jack breezed through to X Factor’s arena stage after impressing judges Simon Cowell, Mel B, Cheryl Fernandez-Versini and Louis Walsh who all gave him a ‘yes’ during his audition earlier this month.

Jack, who won a talent competition at Castleford Academy when he was in year seven, has been performing gigs across the area for two years.

Jack, who also writes his own songs, hopes to release his own EP within the next week.

He will now perform in front of thousands of people at the SSE Arena in Wembley on the ITV talent show this weekend.
