Jack, from Castleford, was knocked out of the ITV talent programme during last year’s live shows.

He said: “I performed at the Overload Festival last year before the X factor and I thought it would be really cool to go back and perform there.

“I get a lot of people asking all the time when I’m going to do a local gig so it’s going to be really nice to perform close to home.”

The festival, which has been backed by Wakefield Youth Work Team, will run from 3pm until 9pm.

Entry is free but some on-site activities may carry a small charge.

Lewis Southward, 15, who has helped organise the event, said: “There will be lots of different activities and entertainment throughout the day.

“It is not just about the music. There will be activities for all of the family including a bouncy castle for the little ones.”

Jack, of Aketon Road, is now working for One Direction’s Louis Tomlinson after he set up his own record label.

He said: “I am still doing shows up and down the country and I am focusing on my writing at the minute.

“I have now got some free time to do the kind of music I want to do and I want to take full advantage of that.

“I am looking forward to performing in Pontefract. It’s a nice community event and hopefully a few people will come down to the event.”
