Yorkshire Brick Show returns to Wakefield

Creative builders have dedicated hours to constructing intricate Lego designs, one brick at a time.

And their model creations, including cities and trains, will be exhibited later this year at Unity Works.

The work will be on display in the third annual Yorkshire Brick Show, which returns to Wakefield on May 1 and 2.

Dean Freeman, head programmer at Unity Works, said: “We are incredibly pleased to be bringing The Yorkshire Brick Show to Unity Works in 2016.

“We organise such a huge range of events here, but it is these community focussed events that really make me smile. It’s what I believe the building is here for and it’s a privilege to be hosting the event this year.

“From a personal point of view, I will be dashing back from my holiday in New York to make sure I witness the spectacle.”

The event, previously held at the National Coal Mining Museum for England, is one of the largest exhibitions of LEGO models in the North of England.

Richard Lawson, director of Stackable Events, which organises the show, said it had ‘gone from strength to strength in terms of both size and popularity’ over the last two years.

He said: “The community built Unity Works venue is the perfect place to host the Yorkshire Brick Show this year, as it grows in size and popularity.”
