Generosity was overwhelming

THE Express covered my story about a charity event for premature babies (May 17 edition)

We held a home-made baking and lucky dip stall at Pontefract market.

We had a fabulous day and were overwhelmed by the support and generosity from the residents of Pontefract.

Total cash donations were a fantastic £230 plus a box of premature baby clothes generously given to us from a lovely lady whose name we did not get.

We have used £50 of the money towards our forthcoming event in October, with the remaining £180 we purchased premature baby clothes from Boots and Mothercare in Wakefield who we owe a massive thank you as they were generous and gave us a ten per cent discount on the total purchase.

We would also like to say a massive thank you to Transform Images in the Ridings shopping centre in Wakefield who gave us discount on our printed T-shirts and a £5 donation.

A massive thank you to everyone who donated money to the cause. I would also like to say a huge thank you to my cousin Abby Smith who helped my mum bake the cakes.

It means so much to me that I can help these units that gave me, my brothers and sister our lives, so from the bottom of my heart to everybody, thank you.
