Land plan could work for Castleford

I was interested to read about a possible policy Labour raised at their conference. It was about the government confiscating land off landowners to develop, where landowners buy up land and sit on it for years while prices of land increase.

One such instance of this is in Castleford, where Edinburgh House bought up swathes of land in and around the town centre and have just sat on it for a six year period.

If this idea were put into law it would enable the government or council to give the landowner notice to use it or lose it.
