Letter - It’s amber, so give way at crossings

With reference to Ray Price’s letter regarding bad motorway driving, I could not agree with him more!

The standard of driving by some is appalling, and not confined to the motorway.

I am convinced some drivers pass their test and throw away the Highway Code. How many give way to the amber flashing light at a pelican crossing?

Pedestrians still have the right of way while amber is flashing but are ignored by most drivers who see pedestrians waiting in anticipation.

There are many amber and red traffic light jumpers that I’m sure think it’s okay to accelerate when they should be braking for safety’s sake.

Another major problem. Giving way to your right at roundabouts and oncoming traffic is a mystery to some.

Plus of course the favourite mobile phone users.
