I never fail to be amazed at Wakefield’s planning policy. For a start it’s clear that planning officers never visit the locality they’re ruling upon. Why else would so many Pontefract schools be beside the narrowest lane in the vicinity? In yet another daft pronouncement, a new housing scheme’s access road is to come out next to a school on the narrowest open road in an area, instead of a more logical lane that could be widened and surfaced to come out on Eastbourne View where there are good sight-lines in both directions.
