The state of Pontefract town centre and others is a disgrace with rubbish and chewing gum strewn all over.
The prime culprits being selfish individuals who don’t care where their rubbish is so long as it’s not with them.
However, there is legislation to fine these people - yet do we ever see prosecutions for such offences? Rarely. If the council put half as much effort into fining these people as it does with parking offences then we might see a difference - but could it be that it is more profitable and easier pickings to focus on drivers? I suspect so
