Bodybuilder Laura quickly makes her mark

LAURA Smith (pictured) has qualified for the Miss Universe bodybuilding tournament in October in her first year of competing.

Laura, who lives in Whitwood and trains at Bodyworks, Featherstone, has won two first places and two second places in the toned figure class in recent competitions.

In the South Lakes Classic competition in Ulverston, Cumbria, she won first place and a trophy for best presentation.

She then took part in the North East Britain competition in Batley where she finished first and qualified for the British finals. She also came second in the Miss Yorkshire competition the same day and won a trophy for best presentation for the North East Britain contest.

In the British finals in Southport, Laura was second out of 26 girls which qualified her for the Miss Universe tournament which is a new class that has been introduced this year.
