Chasing 215-5, perennial title challengers York stayed on track, but came up just short, losing by one run as their innings ended on 214-6.

Captain David Wainwright rolled back the years with an outstanding all-round contribution for Castleford as he took 5-43 with the ball after top scoring with the bat in a knock of 62no.

Valuable batting contributions also came from Chesney Hughes (40), Liam Hyde (27) and Connor Hyde (32no).

Castleford seconds produced a disappointing batting display as they lost out to Stamford Bridge seconds in the Y&DSCL Division Two Ebor.
