There were contrasting fortunes for Methley and Townville in the second round of the Heavy Woollen Cup.
Both were involved in high scoring matches on Sunday, but while Methley made it through Townville were knocked out.
Methley were challenged by Crossbank Methodists who posted a 211-8 score despite a 4-38 yield by Sohail Raz and two wickets each for Harry Sullivan and Robert Clegg.
But they got home with 4.2 overs to spare after stands of 68 and 64 for the first two wickets sent them on the way.
Adal Islam top scored with 40 and there were good contributions from Jordan Laban (37), David Winter (37 not out), Raz (23 not out) and Jake McCaffrey (23).
Brayden Clark hit 51 for Townville and was supported by Jonny Booth (45) and Jack Hebden (48), but their run chase fell 30 runs short after Woodlands made 280-8.
Richie Bresnan (2-28), Shahid Nawaz (2-35) and Hebden (2-54) were the pick of Townville’s bowlers.
