Featherstone duo lift British titles

FEATHERSTONE weightlifters Mark Wager and Nick Hall were in top form at the British Masters Weightlifting Championships.

Hall completed 70 kilo snatch and 115 kilo clean and jerk of 115 which earned him first place in his weight class and his first-ever British title.

Wager won the British title for the fifth successive year. He had a lift of 105 kilos in the snatch, which was short of his own British record of 125. In the clean an jerk, Wager lifted 145 kilos which was 10 kilos short of his British record.

Wager qualified to compete in the world championships later this year in Ukraine.

Both Hall and Wager train at Featherstone Weightlifting Club where they are coached by Alan Whitworth.
