Methley breezed into the quarter-finals of the Priestley Cup when they easily disposed of the challenge of Gomersal on Sunday.
A massive 151-run win earned Methley a home tie in the last eight when they will face fellow Championship One side Birstall on Sunday, July 2.
Sixteen-year-old Josh Sullivan was one of the stars in a strong display by Methley as he followed up his five-wicket haul in a league win over Bowling Old Lane a day earlier by taking 5-17 to help speed his team to victory.
Gomersal were all out for 99 in reply to Methley’s 250-8, with Sohail Raz also chipping in with 3-36 and Matthew Lumb 2-29.
In Methley’s innings overseas opener Muhammad Akhlaq led the way with 75, including seven fours and two sixes, while Marcus Walmsley hit 27, Raz 28, Grant Soames 27 and Dan Shuffe 26.
