Pontefract Collieries lost 6-4 at home to NCEL Premier Division rivals Staverley Miners Welfare on Saturday after trailing 5-1 at half-time.
Liam Schofield scored Pontefract’s solitary first-half goal.
Staveley’s Courtney Hastings scored two goals - the first from the penalty spot - and Adam Scott, Kieran Watson and Jamie Brown also found the net as the visitors built a commanding lead.
Sam Cable grabbed two goals and Aaron Moxam was also on target as Collieries staged a spirited second-half fightback but they had left themselves with too much to do and Staveley sealed victory with Watson’s second in the 81st minute.
