Pontefract Collieries were happy with their first work out as they aim to be ready for the start of the new NCE League season next month.

Simon Chadburn fired Wombwell ahead on 15 minutes, but Ponte hit back through former Glasshoughton Welfare midfielder Josh Corbett and Nathan Perks.

Damon Cassell squared the game up again only for winger Andy Catton to score within a minute to make it 3-2 at the break to the visitors.

Colls then made sure of victory with two more goals in the first 10 minutes of the second half with Callum Ward and Mark Simpson on target.

They now go on to play Boroughbridge away on Saturday (3pm) before a first home game at the White Rose Stadium against Ossett Town next Tuesday (7.30pm).
