A late goal by defender Nigel Danby earned Pontefract Collieries a vital point in their home game with fellow Premier Division strugglers Nostell MW.
After losing in midweek to bottom of the table Liversedge it was vital Ponte did not suffer another defeat when they took on opponents second from bottom, but they made a disappointing start with Steve Smith putting Nostell ahead in only the second minute.
It stayed 1-0 to half-time, but Colls kept plugging away and were rewarded when Danby came up from the back to come up with an equaliser 10 minutes from time.
While still disappointing the point did lift Ponte up to 17th in the table and they still have games in hand on three of the teams below them.
They are in a three-way tie on 29 points, ahead of Parkgate and Brigg Town on goal difference, two points ahead of Armthorpe Welfare, three in front of Nostell MW and nine up on Liversedge.
This Saturday Collieries face a tough task as they travel to take on fourth-placed Cleethorpes Town (kick-off 3pm). They are also in action at home next Wednesday in another six-pointer against Brigg Town (7.45pm).
