James Dyson scored three goals as Fryston eased to a 5-1 win after leading 2-0 at half-time.

Matthew Midgley and Jamie Simpson were Fryston’s other scorers in a victory that lifted them above George V who did not play.

Fryston are level on points with FC Pontefract with a superior goal difference and also a game in hand.

Pontefract Squash have just one point from six matches and are three points adrift of second bottom Pontefract Sports and Social.

A second-half goal from Nathan Perks was Squash’s only reply against Fryston.

With Premier Division leaders Ferrybridge on FA Sunday Cup duty in a 4-1 victory against Thornton United, Upton Wrangbrook missed a chance to go top when they went down 6-2 at FC Pontefract. Mark Lynch and Liam Womersley netted for Wrangbrook after they trailed 3-0 at half-time.

AFC Cutsyke were easy winners in the First Division Cup when they trounced visitors Townville Allstars 11-1.

Redhill Sports and Social dominated their cup match at Halfpenny Lane WMFC.

Redhill were 3-1 ahead at the break and wrapped things up by adding three unanswered second-half goals.

Stuart Halkyard, Brenton Johnson and Joe Merrington each scored two goals for Redhill. Jon Coussons scored Halfpenny Lane’s solitary goal.

Calvin Dunning bagged four goals as Whitwood Metrostars coasted to an 8-2 cup win at Kings Head Pollington.

Steve Backhouse grabbed a double and Richie Dunning and Rob Waring were also on the scoresheet for Metrostars.

Ferrybridge Progressive will fly the flag for Yorkshire in the FA Sunday Cup after Sunday’s 4-1 home second round win over Thornton United. The Castleford Sunday League champions took a 2-0 lead through Mikey Dunn and Alex Booth before Thornton pulled one back . Progressive sealed victory when Josh Barratt and Danny Middleton were on target in the second-half. They are the only team from the Yorkshire area through to the third round on December 11 when they host Merseyside club Pineapple.

Leeds Combination League teams Leeds City Rovers and Seacroft WMC lost at Merseyside teams Lobster and Pineapple respectively. Wakefield Sunday League side New Sharlston Welfare were trounced 12-0 at Witton Park Rose and Crown.

West End Terriers reached the Wakefield Sunday League Landlords Cup quarterfinals with Sunday’s 5-1 win at Sandal Galaxy.

After Terriers conceded an early goal, captain Dave North rallied the side.

Nathan Harrop, who won the Andrew Bradbury Vehicle Body Repairs MOM award, levelled the scores with a great shot.

Jamie Radford then bagged his fourth goal in five games after 21 minutes.

Sandal tried to get back in the game but they were rocked when Nathan Harrop rattled home two more cracking strikes after 33 and 43 minutes.

Both sides competed excellently in the second-half.

There was no further score until Dale Harrop put the game beyond Sandal’s reach with a stunning shot.

In Wakefield Sunday League Premiership 2, Hemsworth Miners Welfare reserves lost 1-0 at Normanton FC.
