Experienced former Bradford City striker Gareth Grant has joined Pontefract Collieries to bolster their squad as they look to push on for a promotion place from Division One of the Toolstation NCE League.

Grant made 30 appearances in the Football League for Bradford City, Halifax Town and Lincoln City.

At Bradford he scored three goals against FK Atlantas in the Intertoto Cup, Darlington in the League Cup and Portsmouth in the league.

During his spell with Lincoln he scored once against Chesterfield in the LDV Vans Trophy.

Grant has also played for Chester City, Gainsborough Trinity, Harrogate Town, Farsley Celtic and Droylsden before joining Evo-Stik League side Ossett Town in July with a dual registration for the 2013-14 season with NCE Premier League team Albion Sports.

Grant went straight into the Pontefract team for their game at Dinnington Town last Saturday and scored after just three minutes.

Colls have made a second signing with Kyle Hawthorne arriving from NCE Premier leaders Tadcaster Albion and he was also on target in the 3-2 win at Dinnington.
