Frickley aim to keep up red hot run of form

Frickley Athletic will be looking to maintain their rich vein of form of recent weeks when they travel to play Lincoln United on Saturday.

Spencer Fearn’s men made it three straight wins when they beat Market Drayton last weekend, scoring 13 goals in the process without conceding.

The result lifted the Blues up to third place in the Evo-Stik First Division South and they will be aiming to at least hold onto that position against a Lincoln side that was left down in 17th place after last weekend’s games when they suffered their eighth defeat in nine matches.

One of those losses came against the Market Drayton side that Frickley hammered 6-0, but that one recent win was away to Loughborough Dynamo who Athletic could only draw with.

Frickley will take their in-form strikeforce with them, including Jacob Hazel who has now found the back of the net 19 times already this season with still over half of it remaining.

He is certainly the man in form with goals in eight consecutive games, scoring 12 in those matches.

Up front with him, Gavin Allott is not far behind in the goal scoring charts and he netted his 11th hat-trick for the club and his third of the season in the big win at Market Drayton.

He has another target ahead of him now, having completed his club century, as he sits only two hat-tricks behind Dick Lawson who holds the all-time trebles record for the Frickley club.
