Glasshoughton Welfare’s fight to stay in the Premier Division of the Toolstation NCE League has been put on hold with the weather intervening.
Last Saturday’s scheduled game at home to Staveley MW became the latest casualty to the weather, with ice bound and flooded pitches causing an almost entire wipe out of the NCE programme.
With no midweek action this time second from bottom Welfare must wait until this Saturday to resume their campaign when they are due to entertain mid-table Pickering Town (kick-off 3pm).
They were due to host bottom club Nostell MW next Tuesday in what could have been a do or die relegation encounter, but the game has now been put back as Nostell are in Sheffield & Hallamshire County Cup action against Rossington Main.
Pontefract Collieries had their scheduled games against Clipstone last Wednesday and Worsbrough Bridge Athletic last Saturday postponed because of the snow and ice and they have been rearranged now for March 4 and 24 respectively.
They remain in third place, just a point behind leaders AFC Emley, and hope to return to action this Saturday away to Hallam, who are down in 16th (kick-off 3pm).
Colls also have a game next Tuesday when they travel to face Hall Road Rangers (7.45pm).
