Glasshoughton Welfare suffered their 11th straight defeat as they went down 1-0 at home to Parkgate in the Premier Division on Tuesday night.
Now resigned to relegation, Welfare put up a battling display, but made a disastrous start when Adam Stapleford-Jones netted after just two minutes for the visitors.
There was no capitulation this time with the result in the balance right to the final whistle. However, in gusty conditions it was difficult to play football and Parkgate went home with the three points that eases any relegation fears they might have had.
Welfare are now six points adrift of Retford at the bottom and 15 points behind Liversedge and Nostell MW with only six games remaining.
Their last win was in the league cup against Bridlington Town in early January and have they not picked up a league point since beating Liversedge 2-1 on December 20.
Glasshoughton are once again without a game this Saturday, but are in action next Tuesday night at home to fellow strugglers Nostell MW, who were bottom for much of the season before a revival in recent weeks has lifted them out of the relegation zone.
