Toolstation NCE Premier Division club Pontefract Collieries have been putting the finishing touches to their preparations ahead of the new season, which starts this Saturday.
Craig Parry’s men begin in the Emirates FA Cup when they host Alsager Town in an extra preliminary round tie kicking off at 3pm.
Ponte are then at home to Staveley MW in their first league game next Tuesday (kick-off 7.45pm).
In their last pre-season game Collieries went to play Huddersfield YMCA on Monday night and came away with a 4-2 win.
Vaughan Redford set them on the way with two first half goals then Kane Reece came up with a good strike and Mickey Dunn sealed victory with a fine solo effort.
Last Saturday Ponte were away to West Yorkshire League side Horbury Town and in a nice little morale booster, they were already three ahead by the break before going on to win 4-0.
A fast start saw Redford open the scoring after eight minutes and he was on target again four minutes later after latching onto a great ball in behind by Luke Jeffs.
More chances went as Ponte played some good football before they made it 3-0 just before half-time as Eli Hey netted from a well worked corner.
Andy Seed added a fourth early in the second half following a cut back by Redford.
