Pontefract Collieries’ run without a win stretched to 11 games when they lost narrowly at home to Pickering Town in the Premier Division of the Toolstation NCE League.

After picking up a point in midweek they were hopeful of returning to winning ways when back at home, but went behind in the first half to opponents in eighth place in the table.

Ged Dalton put the visitors ahead after 22 minutes and it remained 1-0 up to the break.

Dalton scored again just after the hour mark and it was too late for Ponte when midfielder Aaron Joseph found the back of the net with a great strike.

The 2-1 defeat saw Colls slip down to fourth from bottom ahead of their scheduled game tonight at home to Brigg town.

This Saturday they are away to 14th-placed Retford Town (kick-off 3pm) and they are on their travels again next Tuesday when they face a key game at bottom of the table Liversedge (7.45pm).
